Value-Added Woodworking Contest

 

North Cowichan's Forestry Department conducts a local annual woodworking contest. Schools that have been involved include Chemainus Secondary, Cowichan Secondary, Duncan Christian School and Kelsey Secondary.  The Municipality provides the school with the project criteria and wood.  The first place prize is $500, second $250 and third $200.  Judging is based on workmanship, project functionality, marketability and originality. Winning projects are displayed at the Municipal Hall from June 15 to July 10.
