The Municipality of North Cowichan (population 27,000) is located in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. North Cowichan boasts a variety of housing alternatives and a wide range of educational, commercial and medical amenities. The Municipality provides a wide variety of services to its residents, and as such employs people with diverse sets of skills. Our employees perform a number of different functions including:

• Community safety (RCMP support staff and guards, Fire fighters);
• Public works (water distribution, waste water collection, sewage treatment, road building, maintenance and repair, refuse collection, roadside mowing);
• Trades (carpentry, electrical, mechanical, welding);
• Forestry (forest land use and management);
• Administration (Finance, Clerk's department, Human Resources);
• Parks maintenance (irrigation, turf maintenance);
• Recreation services (ice making, skate shop, skate patrol, lifeguards).

Current Vacancies

The Human Resources department provides support to the Municipality in the areas of:  salary, benefit and pension administration; training, health and safety; performance management; collective agreement administration; and recruitment and selection.
