Scholarships

North Cowichan is pleased to offer the Tom Walker Forest Legacy Scholarship and Bursaries. The $1,200 scholarship and two $600 bursaries are funded from Municipal Forest Reserve revenue through the Municipal Forestry Program.

Tom Walker Forest Legacy Scholarship and Bursaries

Tom Walker Forest Legacy Scholarship and Bursaries will be awarded to a secondary school graduate who is a resident of North Cowichan. The applicant must be enrolled in a post-secondary institute such as a technical school, College or University enrolled in a 1st year program. While all students are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to students who are enrolled in science related studies such as forestry, environmental, fisheries, hydrology, geotechnical etc.

In the absence of an applicant pursuing a science related field, the scholarship and bursaries will be awarded based on a scoring system that evaluates the applicant’s submission as outlined in the application form. The Municipality will award the scholarship and two bursaries directly to the winners upon proof of enrollment in a post-secondary institute.
